The 2020 Inaugural Verdes Charity Round Up “Leap” Dog Show & Parade

The Leap Dog Show & Parade is Leap Day, Saturday, February 29th, 2020 at the Trilogy Verde River Dog Park located on Bismarck Lake Road from 10 am to 2 pm and includes a Food Truck, Music, Vendor Fair, Silent Auction, Dog Show, and Dog Parade events. 

ENTRY & PARKING:  Please let the Trilogy Verde River main gate attendant know you are attending the Dog Show & Parade to gain entrance to the event.  There is ample parking available in the parking lot and streets adjacent to the dog park.

REGISTRATION:  Register here below or the day of the event at the registration table starting at 10 am.  Dog may only be entered in one event and all dogs may participate in the Dog Parade.  You do not need to have a dog to participate, just come and watch the show and parade with or without a dog.  Registration closes February 26th.

SEATING:  Bring your own folding chair or blanket to sit on.  Seating may be available for small fee.  Complimentary VIP seating for larger donations over $100.

DOG NUMBER:  Receive your dog number(s) at the registration table and wear your number on the owner so judges can easily see the number(s).  Check in begins at 10am.

DOG SHOW AWARDS & PRIZES:  Dogs to be organized by events.  The Master of Ceremonies will interview each owner and dog(s).  Dog tricks are limited to 60 seconds per entry.  Sponsors and vendors will provide prizes awarded by the judges.  Dog Show events are:

  • Best costume(s) on dogs, human costumes optional

  • Best dog trick

  • Best dog and owner look alike

  • Cutest dog

  • Most charitable kisser

 

DOG PARADE:  At the conclusion of the Dog Show we will line up all dogs with owners in a large circle for the Dog Parade and parade around the common area.   After one complete circle we will stop the music and the last dogs to sit will be excused.  We will continue this process until only one dog remains, the Most Obedient dog, who will be awarded the Dog Parade Grand Prize.

ENTRIES:  For all events an entry can be a single dog or a group of dogs(maximum 3 per household)

MASTER OF CERAMONIES & JUDGES:  Frank DiMaggio will be our MC, Ken Holec, Denise Madaline, and Lisa Minne’ will be our judges.

JUDGING:  Judging will be based upon originality, showmanship, costume creativity and first impression. 

FOOD & REFRESHMENTS:  Food trucks will be on site for humans.  Please bring enough food and water for your dog(s).

PARTICIPATION FEE:  The Verdes Charity Roundup is the annual fund-raising event for the Verdes Communities of Tonto Verde, Rio Verde, Trilogy Verde River and the surrounding foothills.  Each year our community selects four local charities to support via a survey. 

For all participants or spectators, we are asking for a $35 per household minimum donation to the Verdes Charity Round Up fund raising event supporting our four 2020 local charities; Folds of Honor, Reigning Grace Ranch, Verdes Cares and Sunshine Acres.   Donations over $100 will get VIP seating.  

DOG SHOW PARADE & RULES: 

All dogs must remain leashed unless they are in the fenced in dog park areas

  • No dogs allowed in adjacent pond as water is not suitable for dogs

  • Owners must pick up and dispose of their dog’s waste in designated disposal containers.

  • Rabies and vaccinations must be current

  • Dogs must wear dog collars with ID tags

  • No dogs in heat

  • No aggressive dogs

  • Costumes must be safe and comfortable for dogs

  • No puppies under 4 months or without vaccinations

Children participants or spectators should be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times, (no roaming free)

*At Verde River Golf and Social Club, pets (dogs) are not allowed in any of the licensed areas of the Clubhouse or amenities including the Resort Pool, Sports Pavilion (Pickleball, Bocce and Tennis courts) or the golf course. The only exception is when a dog is assisting a Member or guest with a disability - a service dog or emotional support animal.

Please complete your registration by purchasing an event ticket below.

Billing for any tickets, auction items purchased or Fund the Need donations made will appear on your respective Trilogy, Rio Verde or Tonto Verde Home Owners Association statement by March 31st.  A receipt for all TVCR purchases will be emailed to you from the TVCR by March 15th.
